Client Requirement

The Australian Defence Force required two aircraft with 12 business class seats and 62 economy seats to transport media and campaign staff accompanying the two Prime Ministerial candidates. The aircraft were required to be on call each day for the entire 6 week campaign. The requirement included ground handling management at each airport.

Challenges

Once the 2013 election was officially called the aircraft were required almost immediately. Fast aircraft preparation along with support staff and crew were required. The schedule and flight destinations were not released until 4 hours prior to departure, providing an additional challenge for Adagold Aviation staff.

Solutions

Adagold Aviation sourced two 70 seat Fokker F70LR and fitted 12 business class seats in accordance with the client’s requirements. We provided a Program Director as well as 4 dedicated Flight Managers to accompany each flight. This ensured that all schedules were met and all the passengers were comfortable and catered for on the ground and in the air.

Outcome

The aircraft operated 77 services and worked every day of the campaign. A remarkable 100% on time performance was achieved despite the various changes to schedules and the plans of the two political parties.
